Cross Dissolve

Gradual fadeout of one scene and emergence of another. For a moment, both scenes are visible (cross dissolve). Once done in the movie-motion picture camera, and today in the workshop. ----- ( Lexicon of the TV and movie termes )

Festival CROSS DISSOLVE brings together theatre artists, from Yugoslavia and abroad, known for their innovative work and pushing the boundaries between artistic media, theatre forms, performing techniques and generations. By doing so (bringing together such artists), the Festival attemts to create a multilayered theatre image with all of those elements equally visible as in cross-dissolve.
Festival PRETAPANJE / CROSS DISSOLVE grew out of all prior ANET's annual showings, each with its own theme and form: 1999. Festival "Strategy of Survival"; 2000. Festival and Symposium "New Definitions of Theatre's Social Role";2001. Symposium "Pragovi" (Doorsteps). Last year's very successful symposium "Pragovi" showcased plays which were created through collaboration with young people as part of the program Play Agenst Violence. This year, an attempt is made to show the plays to a much broader audience.

The festival aims to take both, its existing follwing and new audiences, on a theatrical journey through various expressive forms, styles and generations.
